Cooling Systems
The vehicle cooling system needs to be able to withstand a wide range of temperature ranges and the resulting expansion and contraction. The movement of materials is accommodated by the use of gaskets and seals however when these break down fluids and gases can move between the fractures causing pressure loss and overheating and even engine seizure.
The ITC Cooling System tester allows a special cap to be fitted to the radiator or expansion tank which can then be fully pressurised using the system pump where the degradation of pressure can be seen and traced to the site of the fault. This system also allows the expansion tank cap to be tested as the seals often collapse over time. |
